You made it!

First thing tomorrow morning, your journey from this spot begins as we work to “Behold our God” together as a church over the next weeks.

I am praying God speaks to us in holy and incredible ways!

The Word of God is our treasure because in it, the voice of God can be heard. We can encounter God in His Word when we take the truths we learn about God and make them matters of meditation before God, which becomes prayer and praise to God.

Each devotional will have a text of Scripture. Your job is to let these verses be the “script” of your conversation with your Father.

Begin by finding a space and designating an amount of time. Then recall that the main character of the text you are about to read is with you. Hand over to Him the things that might distract during this time (eg: “Lord, for this time, I’m not going to worry about ___________. Will you handle that for now?”) Hurry diminishes your capacity to love. So ask for the help of His Spirit to get still.

Then ask of each text, “What do I learn about You, my Lord, from these verses?” Most days you’ll be prompted to write down attributes you see. Pause over each attribute and “behold” your God in THIS text. Praise Him. Tell Him what you think. Consider how these truths about Him change your life. This is the core of what you’ll be doing in these days as you “Behold your God.”

Last thing… and most important… Set chime to go off at the top of each hour and remember the attribute of God you read about today and ask Him to help you keep it before you.

My friend, He is eager to meet with you. Have a great journey!

Isaiah 40:9

Go on up to a high mountain,

O Zion, herald of good news;

lift up your voice with strength,

O Jerusalem, herald of good news;

lift it up, fear not;

say to the cities of Judah,

“Behold your God!”
