My dear friend,

It is GOOD that you are setting this time aside to meet with God. Far too often, we take Him for granted. If an appointment were offered you with the King of the Realm at the Palace in the capital city, it would be an honor. THIS text makes clear that HE has made an appointment with you where YOU are.

Take a moment to get still. Ask Him to speak to you through His word.

Read Matthew 28:18-20 three times.

Jesus says something about Himself in these verses. What is it? What does it mean?

Can you think of anything in the universe that is not under the authority of Jesus? How does this statement change things?

Jesus gives us a command here. What is it?

How do you feel about “making disciples of all nations?”

Jesus gives us a promise here. What is it?

How does Jesus’ promise to always be with us (especially the Jesus Who has all authority in heaven and earth) help us when we think of obeying this great command?

You have been praying for two people you will see today who don’t yet know the joy of Christ. Have you been remembering this through the day? If things have been happening, would you write me about that (danw@lakeland.org)? Ask for Jesus to open their hearts to Him and give you an opportunity to build trust with them and share the hope you have in Christ.

Jesus is present with us to help us fulfill His mission! I’m praying that you would know His close presence today.
