Welcome to a new day Pilgrim,
The most important truth about the day before you is the promise that our all-present Lord Jesus is actually at work through His Holy Spirit in engaging with you and the circumstances before you. Praise God that HE wants to be close, and therefore is!
The incarnation of Christ was the settled plan of God from before time began, revealed in Genesis 3 to Adam and Eve when God promised that one of her descendants would crush the head of the serpent, at the cost of the serpent striking His heal. There is a wonder about the clear plan of God that He carried out (and is carrying out) over centuries. Today we see this again.
Take a few minutes to get still.
Read Romans 1:1-5 slowly, thoughtfully, out loud, five times.
What are truths about Christ Paul tells us here? Can you find more than five?
How does each truth show us something about God’s greatness revealed in Christ? (Eg: Gospel means “good news.” So when Paul mentions “the gospel of God” he then explains that the “good news” is Jesus. Jesus doesn’t point to good news. He is not a guide. He is the good news. Having Christ is having the good news!
As you conclude: What is one truth about God from this text you can take through your day? How can you remember it?
Can you think of two people you will see today who don’t yet know the joy of Christ? Take a moment and pray for both of them, that God’s Spirit would give them new birth. Then watch for how He brings you two together.
